Taylor Swift's new married name revealed by friends: 'Very traditional' singer has 'meaningful' reason for change

She has perhaps the most famous name on Earth. So it's almost impossible to imagine a change to the Taylor Swift brand. 

Printed on CDs and vinyl, on tour posters and merchandise, up in lights in stadiums and endlessly mentioned in newspapers the world over, it's more than a name - it's an industry that's already made her a billionaire two times over at the age of 36.

Which is why, as the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal, it comes as a surprise that the singer is said to have every intention of becoming Mrs Taylor Kelce.

The her NFL player fiancé, , in a lavish multi-day celebration at New York City's Madison Square Garden arena this week. Revelries are expected to begin Thursday, with an rehearsal dinner for family and close friends, before at 1,000-guest party on Friday.

And, it now seems, the 'Love Story' singer is expected to take the more traditional route of dropping her maiden name and instead adopting her husband's last name when they say 'I Do'.

It is, however, understood that a legal name change would be for personal reasons, and that she will retain Taylor Swift as her stage name.

'Professionally, she'll always be Taylor Swift. The name has become one of the biggest brands in entertainment, and there's really no reason to change that,' an insider said, adding that 'very traditional' Swift sees taking Kelce's name as a 'very meaningful step' in their relationship.

'Personally, it's a different story,' the insider said. 'Taylor is very traditional, and when it comes to marriage, she'd love to take Travis' last name.

'In her personal life, the idea of being Taylor Kelce is something she genuinely looks forward to.

'She sees it as a meaningful step, especially knowing it would also be the family name their future children would share.'

The insider added that Swift is 'not interested in hyphenating or trying to combine their names.' 

'Both she and Travis think there's something incredibly special and beautiful about sharing the same last name, even if the world will always know her professionally as Taylor Swift,' the insider said.

A second source told the Daily Mail: 'She will take his last name when they wed, but for work she will still go by Taylor Swift. Jennifer Aniston did this when she married Brad Pitt.'
