While doing press for their upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the couple were faced with a question about the so-called 'Zendaya Hat Theory' that is still going viral online.

The theory comically claims that she wears big hats to secretly transport her now-husband, and that they also conceal her many hidden powers.

The meme started in 2014, when the 29-year-old actress wore an oversized Emporio Armani hat to the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party, and it gained new traction after she wore a dramatic, wide-brimmed white floppy chapeau to the 2025 .
