has reportedly been dropped by his manager in the wake of the controversy surrounding his career comeback.

Insiders claim to The Sun the former star has been let go by Zenkai Management, bosses of whom have been guiding his career since 2022, after his altercation with last year.

The star, who left One Direction fans heartbroken when he left the band in 2015 after five years due to his desire to 'live as a normal 22-year-old', has been forging a comeback yet met multiple speed bumps along the way.

Sources said: 'It's no secret that Zayn isn't the easiest character to work with and his team stood by him through thick and thin.

'But things reached a point where his management felt they couldn't do anything else, and they recently resigned. Now he is looking for the third manager of his solo career. It's not a good look.'

Earlier this year, it was reported that Zayn punched ex-bandmate Louis during filming for a Netflix road trip show last year.

The former One Direction stars had signed a multi-million pound deal to travel the US where they would discuss their lives and reflect on memories from their 1D days.

It was later reported however that the series has been scrapped after their physical altercation - with Zayn allegedly punching Louis in the face, resulting in the singer suffering a concussion and requiring medical treatment.

It was claimed that during filming, Zayn began 'acting up and mouthing off', which sparked an explosive row. Zayn is said to have made a comment about Louis' mum Johannah Deakin, who died aged 43 in 2016 after battling leukaemia.

Two of Louis' five sisters, Phoebe and Lottie, later unfollowed Zayn on Instagram.

Sources said: 'Louis was stunned and in shock. As he went to move, Zayn then attacked him. Zayn punched him straight in the face, because he was wearing rings it cut Louis's head.'

Netflix is said to have axed the multi-million-pound show - which was set to be produced by Campfire Studios - following the altercation as the pair have reportedly not spoken since the incident occurred six months ago.

It was reported in January the former One Direction bandmates were believed to have 'fallen out' after they reunited for the brand new road trip show.

Sources close to the production revealed the pair were likely to discuss the tragic death of their friend and bandmate Liam Payne in the series.

An insider previously told The Sun of the show: 'This will be an absolutely huge show for Netflix and is guaranteed to whip 1D's global army of fans into a frenzy.

'Although the idea of British boyband members doing a show about travelling across America sounds random, most of them now have strong links Stateside.

'And it's likely to be a chance for some serious soul-searching and deep discussions about the incredible journey the group have already been on since they were formed on The X Factor 15 years ago.'

In April, it was suggested Zayn was living in fear of footage being leaked of the fracas, after Netflix filmed the exchange.

Weeks after altercation was reported, Zayn axed his US tour and two of his UK arena shows under unclarified circumstances, saying he would have 'another look' at his schedule after being hospitalised for a mystery illness.

It was claimed that he was disappointed with ticket sales.

Daily Mail has contacted Zayn's representatives for comment.

The star now lives on a farm in Pennsylvania with Khai, his five-year-old daughter he shares with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid.

In a rare interview last year, Zayn said of his unique life: 'I like to carve things out of wood, like small pieces of wood, not like big projects or anything, but like small blocks of wood. I carve like bears out of them...

'When I'm not working, I just want to go home and relax. I feel like an old man. What's going on in Pennsylvania? Not much. That's why I live there. I don’t really leave my gaff. I kind of just stay there.'
