There may be a heatwave in the UK but temperatures are set to soar in the Love Island villa as the boys have their turn at the Heart Rate challenge.

In Wednesday's upcoming episode, the seven male islanders dress up as builders, bikers and businessmen and dazzle the girls with seductive performances.

The iconic challenge sees islanders' heart rates monitored and the results are renowned for sparking tension and jealousy.

And this year's challenge does just that as Tommy, who is dressed as a waiter, decides to perform a specific gesture involving a shot glass for Jasmine, while a shocked Kavan watches on in disbelief from the terrace above.

After putting on a sizzling display for the boys, it's now the girls' turn to be entertained.

Dressed up as builders, bikers and businessmen, the seven buff boys take it in turns to dazzle the girls with seductive performances in a bid to get their heart rates soaring.

Meanwhile, back in the garden, Aidan performs for Yasmin and whispers, 'This ain't over yet, baby.'

Following the boys' steamy performances, the group gathers round the fire pit for the results.

Priya starts, announcing which girl successfully sent each boy's pulse racing the most.

One unexpected outcome leads an Islander to comment, 'No way… sorry, but no way,' about his result. 'I didn't even do anything to him,' the girl in question agrees.

Aidan then steps up to disclose which of the boys managed to raise the girls' heart rates.

With one boy dominating the results, his fellow Islanders celebrate his impressive efforts.

But the mood shifts when it is revealed that one boy's heart was sent racing by a former flame rather than his current partner, leaving the group with little to say.

There's cause for celebration, however, for one couple who share a kiss as they discover they successfully spiked each other's heart rates the most out of all the couples.

After the results are revealed, Kavan and Jasmine have a debrief about the challenge.

Sensing his frustration, Jasmine urges Kavan to be honest about what's on his mind.

'It was the Tommy situation,' Kavan says. 'Maybe I'm overreacting but I think it's a bit mad.'

'I feel like I'm being pranked right now,' Jasmine responds, in disbelief at his take on proceedings.

With the pair once again failing to see eye to eye, a resigned Kavan questions their relationship, saying, 'Maybe this just doesn't work… Maybe I'm too young, too immature, and can't handle your calibre of woman.'

The next evening, Angelista receives a text inviting the Islanders to the fire pit.

There, Yasmin receives another which has huge consequences for the group.

'Islanders, the public has been voting for their favourite girl and favourite boy. Those with the fewest votes will be at risk of being dumped from the island.'

As the results are brought to light, the vulnerable Islanders stand up to await their fate.

Love Island continues on ITV and ITVX at 9pm.
