Amy and Carlos Swap Strictly for Celebrity Gogglebox!

stars and Carlos Gu are swapping the salsa for the sofa as they join the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox. 

The professional dancers are best known for gliding around the ballroom, however on Friday night they will be enjoying a night in front of the telly to share their take on the week's biggest and best TV moments.

The best friends sit down armed with a table of mini pretzels, sweet & salty popcorn and an array of varying melons to graze on. 

However Carlos isn't too approving of Amy's selection as he jokes he doesn't want the sugar to age him. 

As they discuss their specific pretzel snack selection, Amy asked Carlos 'Have you tried the chocolate ones?' 

Carlos responded 'Too much sugar, it ages you. You don't want to be aged by sugar!!'

Speaking ahead of her appearance on the show, Amy said: 'Celebrity Gogglebox was fab-u-lous! I'm so used to being on my feet performing, it was such a treat to sit back, laugh, and react to all those brilliant shows. 

'Of course, I loved being able to share those genuine, feel-good moments with Carlos and everyone watching at home.'

Carlos added: 'I had the best time – honestly, it was so much fun! I'm very expressive anyway, so you can imagine, I don't hold back when I'm watching TV! 

'Celebrity Gogglebox is all about emotion, humour and just enjoying yourself, and that's exactly what I love. It felt like me and Amy were having our own little party on the sofa!'

The pair will join a host of recognisable faces including Vogue Williams and her podcast co-host Joanne McNally and Olivia Atwood and her mum.  

Gladiators Legends Matthew Morsia and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, who starred on Strictly Come Dancing last year, also joined the line up.

Meanwhile, content creators George Clark and Max Balegde brought the laughter with their sharp and funny jokes.

Comedian and actor Julian Clary also joined actor and television presenter Nigel Havers in the exciting new episode.

Aside from Strictly, Amy and Carlos have hit the road with their own live tour Amy and Carlos: Reborn.  

The pair are both set to star in the upcoming series of Strictly after the recent cull of professional stars.

Gorka Márquez, 35, Luba Mushtuk, 36, Michelle Tsiakkas, 30, Nadiya Bychkova, 35, and Karen Hauer, 43, have been sensationally dropped from the programme.

Speaking on speculation surrounding the show in March, Carlos said: 'It's our life! It’s not only work.

'For us, as a dancer, I think it’s the best platform you can ever be on and to give you an opportunity to really shine through your talent.

'As a dancer and as an artist, both we are, we live our life and give everything that we have.

'We put our heart and soul into it, so, beyond that, actually, it’s more than just a job, just work, it’s our life.'

Celebrity Gogglebox airs this Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
