Bunney, a former professional and current non-league footballer and coach, proposed to the Manchester United and England midfielder during a holiday in Ibiza in August last year.

The pair make quite the contrast when it comes to football allegiances – Joe is famously a devoted Manchester City fan, while Ella represents their bitter rivals, Manchester United.

The couple announced their engagement last summer, days after England clinched a back-to-back Euros crown by defeating Spain in Switzerland.

Joe popped the big question in front of an extravagant archway of red roses in Ibiza with a sign in the middle reading: 'Will you marry me?'

Looking adoringly at each other, Ella and Joe were surrounded by family and freinds for their big day, including Ella's Lioness teammates, with Alessia Russo as her maid of honour

The Manchester United midfielder flashed her diamond sparkler to the camera as she beamed from ear-to-ear.

Alongside the gallery of photographs, she penned: 'Forever… 04/08/25.'

They were sweetly joined by Joe's son Arlo, five, who held a red rose and the engagement ring in the heartwarming moment.

Bunney, who had Arlo during a previous relationship, carved out his own football career in the lower leagues after spells with various clubs, including Bolton Wanderers.

He now works as an assistant manager for Hyde United as well as a coach at Ella's ET7 Academy, which aims to mentor young girls who want to get into football.

Ella celebrated her engagement earlier in June in Ibiza alongside her fellow Lioness teammates, Alessia Russo, Lauren Hemp and Georgia Stanway.

Former England goalkeeper Mary Earps, who has been linked with a return to the WSL this summer with London City Lionesses, was also in attendance.

The girls were spotted enjoying themselves at Wayne Lineker's (Gary Lineker's brother) beach club, with its distinctive yellow umbrellas, before partying the night away at Ushuaïa on the famous party strip.

Toone, who has spoken frequently in the past of her affinity for the party island, shared pictures online with the caption: 'The best hen with all my favourite people. Ibiza I (love) you. Bring on the wedding!! Shoutout to the best MOH in the business … what would I do without you (Russo)'.
